Lyrics:
i never give a dollar up to someone who can't impress to me they're in
pain, but since i know that you're always into something, everyone says
that you're
insane. The ball is rolling and you're on the spot now try to get the dollar
from my hand- swallow stilts while you're standing on a sword blade do
you really think you need the shame. Or hold your breath for ten minutes
at a
time i'll be right back with a camera and a cane. It's a racket but the
cops aint coming its harder and its harder every day. I heard you're
into modesty
you say you just can't stay. well you know i respect honesty so i'll send
you on your way. Its so hard for me to run this place it's harder every
day. If i promise not to say your name to you think that you could play.

Bass- Tony Maimone.

Lyrics:
it's me the one you lost in your past, I'm coming over at last i hope you
still are some fun. It's me the best and worst of your youth so elegantly
uncouth i see you starting to run. we will be- fighting talking reminiscing
leaning hard on lost convictions poking prodding starting stopping getting
on without restrictions speaking hearing most endearing making words to fit
the theories glancing round the room nervously as you begin to see. Its me
the one you thought you had lost the one who taught you the cost of taking
chances exposed. you will be stopping shaking glancing left and right to
occupy attention making some excuses about how this feels like an inspections
calling me a laser beam thats shining pointing searching scanning playing
taping now that we have reached a certain understanding. Don't let your left
hand know what your right hand's doing. Its you running out of excuses petrified
by the truth that you have outlived your use. We have been testing checking
re-inspecting learning how to take impressions stopping stepping up a step
or tow to check out over heading you have just completed the intention of
our random meeting you will have a feeling after this that everything is
fleeting. Don't let your left hand know what your right hand's doing.
03. The Flood 5:31
Guitar, claps, drum programming, vocals- Aaron Lazar
Lyrics:
well the year was 1929. And the town was Galveston in Texas. And the village
that they came from, it could never be found. it was hidden in the hills
of Transylvania. thats where the family was from. Where they've been known,
they've been known, to lie about their pasts. It was the flood that drove
my family from the south. Yeah they're lying bout every detail. Now the flood
was something terrible. And the farm was washed away. there were jellyfish
in the cornfields. there were electric eels in the hay. it was not like Transylvania,
cause there was nothing left to say. half of the family headed north and
the other half would stay. This was the story that was told to me. this was
the first and only time. When i'd ask about the flood again. they would change
it every time. It went from Galveston to Montreal. It went from Canada to
Spain. And the village that they said was theirs. No one even knew its name.
It was a flood.
04. Crack in my tooth
Guitar, claps, drum programming, vocals- Aaron Lazar
Lyrics:
With a crack in my tooth and a boil on my back I'm chewing the fat with dad.
he's talking about Vietnam and all the wonderful times that he had. Oh apples
don't fall far from the tree. Oh what's to come of me. With a break in your
leg and a signature cast you're wasting the rest of the day. With hilarious
fat you know it will last. You're running out of dirty jokes to say. Oh what's
to come of you. Oh what will you do. With a crack in my too and a boil on
my back I'm chewing the fat with dad. he's talking about Vietnam and all
the wonderful drugs that he had.
05. Ain't No Reason For His Head at All
Guitar, yoga mat, exercise ball, wooden dowels, table top, drum programming,
vocals- Aaron Lazar.
Screeches- Derek Archer.
Guitar- Joel Hamilton
Lyrics:
looking good was always in the question. he'd take a compliment from anyone
or anything at all. he was ignorant of any self-possession, it had never
been enacted once or twice before. you had to tell him not to breath through
his teeth. you had to tell him that his stare was unbecoming. And through
it all you would never have enough. Even as he could never stop it coming.
there aint no reason for it- no reason for his head at all. Looking good
was always in the question. He'd take a compliment from anyone or anything
at all. He was ignorant of any self-possession, it had never been enacted
once or twice before. You had to tell him not to breathe through his teeth.
you had to tell him that his stare was unbecoming. And through it all you
would never have enough. Even as he could never stop it coming. i used to
think that it was only an assumption that he would sell it if his back was
up against the wall. but when i mentioned that the clientele was coming,
he would move from ATM into the bathroom stall. Stuffing tips into the pockets
of the valets. They were overjoyed to finally get their dollars worth. and
as it was i just had to sit and wonder. Not even if you were the last piece
of ass on earth.
06. Tineretze
Guitar, Bass, drum programming, vocals- Aaron Lazar
Lyrics:
remember when you were told that you would save rock n roll. now you're getting
too old, you're moving too slow. Nobody says that you're clever no more.
Can you still fill the room? Can you still make em swoon? can you laugh at
your gloom? can you be just about everything all the time? Do you know if
its true? what they say about you? Do you know if its good? Does it feel
like it should? i wanna be just like you. cause i know it feels good. Like
you promised it would. i know it feels good. we know it feels good. I think
that its time. that you made up your mind, about making it right without
breaking your spine. And you don't have the time. and so you're told. you're
gonna save rock n roll. never gonna grow old, if you do what your told. Cause
nobody's thinking enough anymore. Ain't it pretty?
07 The Woman Who Became a Tree
Guitar, drum programming, claps, scissors, bottle of xanax, bass- Aaron Lazar
Lyrics:
Mother lost her mind on a saturday. She was out of trees to climb. She was
out of things to say. And she'd been holding everybody down too long anyway.
So she waved goodbye and smiled. rotted to where she was standing all day.
The rest of the family tried to move her from that spot. Everything was in
play. Little was to be got. She would look you in the eye. She would smile
all day. She would never speak a word. She would never move away from where
she stood becoming wood. We would spend our days taking care of her. Moving
from place to place to escape. She would follow with herb eyes. She would
never change her smile. Catatonically complete, until she started sprouting
leaves. And we would speak of this to nobody who would understand? Father
got remarried to an understanding gland, and mom got big. Mom got grand.
We brought her food. we held her hands. They were brambly and knotted now
understand. She was nearer to becoming a virgin stand. And how we cried.
Mother lost her mind on a saturday. She was out of trees to climb. She was
out of things to say. And she'd been holding everybody down too long anyway.
She waved goodbye and smiled. And how we cried.
All songs were written, performed and recorded by Aaron Lazar (except where
noted) through a single pin-hole mic using Apple computer's Garage Band application.
